For more than 40 years, the doctors at Lakeside Square Medical Centre in Pakenham have supported the health and well-being of families across the Cardinia and Casey regions. Our commitment to community care has remained constant throughout that time.
Our story began in 1983 in Upper Beaconsfield, shortly after the Ash Wednesday bushfires. At that time, our first clinic was established to care for a recovering community. In 1997, we expanded to Berwick Lodge Medical Clinic. After many years of dedicated service in Berwick, we eventually outgrew the space. Today, we continue our commitment to high-quality care in our purpose-built medical centre in Pakenham, located at Lakeside Square just off Cardinia Road.
At Lakeside Square Medical Centre, patients can expect a warm and welcoming environment. Importantly, your health concerns are never rushed. Our standard appointments are approximately 50% longer than those at many bulk-billing clinics. This allows our doctors the time to listen carefully, understand your concerns, and provide personalised, comprehensive care. As one of the few GP-owned practices in the region, we remain focused on genuine, continuous, community-centred healthcare.
In addition, many of the doctors and practitioners live locally and maintain strong relationships with trusted specialists and health services throughout the region. For more complex needs, they also collaborate with leading inner-city hospitals and specialist teams. This ensures patients receive the highest possible standard of care.
Our Practice Philosophy & Training Future GPs
At Lakeside Square Medical Centre, we are committed to delivering care that is personal, compassionate, and of the highest quality. To maintain these standards, we voluntarily undergo AGPAL accreditation every three years. This process ensures we consistently meet nationally recognised healthcare standards.
Furthermore, we are proud to be an Accredited Training Practice with RACGP Training. Through the Australian General Practice Training Programme, we help train the next generation of GPs for our community. Our experienced doctors supervise and mentor registrars, supporting them as they develop the skills and confidence required to provide excellent care.
Beyond our clinic walls, we remain actively involved in local health initiatives through the Local Division of General Practice. Ultimately, caring for our community is at the heart of everything we do.
